Hahaha come on now. The Ring editorial board is probably getting chewed up by their boss Oscar who adamantly stated Floyd is the king of the world now and should dictate everything to any opponent he chooses. Everybody knows should Ring install Floyd as #1 there would be innuendoes and rumours galore seeing that GBP promotes Floyd AND owns the magazine as well. All things considered, Nigel Collins and company probably did what they think is right. If you don't like it, tough luck.

If you didn't know this, maybe you should read up more before going on rants.

Top marks on the Mosley victory, but to claim beating JMM at 146 lbs is more impressive than beating Cotto at 145, Clottey at 147 is ridiculous.

These two are lightyears ahead of everybody else at the moment, and there are arguments for either.

    I agree with the Ring;
Welterweight ranking - Mayweather number 1
lb for lb rankings - Pacquiao number 1

This is the truth right here. I was just about to post this, but I decided to read all the replies first this time.

GoldenBoy ain't going to drop Pac until after a loss to Mayweather. It would make no sense to lower Pac from the top spot until after the propective Pacquiao - Mayweather showdown.

The Ring ratings are irrelevant right now when it comes to Pac vs PBF.

Bias is the only reason someone could put Manny ahead of Floyd? Give me a break. They can't make them 1a-1b. Someone has to be ahead of the other, they are 1 and 2 in whatever order you want and legit arguments are made for both sides.

Stop crying, it's a subjective list.

I think this is fair. I believe Mayweather is clearly number one but can understand how and why there is a divide and their reasoning for keeping pac at 1.

It would be an absolute travesty should Floyd steal the Ring P4P #1 spot without having to beat Pac, who's made history and been as phenomenal as anyone lately. The fight is there if Mayweather wants it. He needs to stop pussyfooting about with his demands and just make the fight.

Anyway, Pac is public enemy #1 to GBP, and Oscar and Schaeffer never let a chance to degrade him go by when given an opportunity. If they had their way Manny would be pushed to 5th behind Floyd, JMM, Hopkins and Mosley.

Good to see the Ring has atleast a little integrity left.

Erm, The Ring is owned by Golden Boy, essentially Mayweather's promoter...there is no bias here. I commend them for keeping Bob Arum's fighter as the P4P King (even if I don't agree) because it shows a certain amount of objectivity.

 Exactly....While I do agree with Floyd's performance he deserves all the credit. It was a onesided clinic....similar to how Manny dominated Josh who was a little more than just a punching bag. In my opinion Floyd is still in the #2 spot but I don't mind seeing him as the #1 for those who think that.

The problem is BOTH men are at the moment fighting TOP guys and they are both dominating. If we go by recent resumes Manny is ahead which is why I feel he is still #1. But Floyd's win over Shane is bigger than Manny's win over Josh or Cotto.

Can't go wrong with either guy being in the #1 spot.

The difference to me is still that crushing victory Pac has over a prime Marco Antantio Barrara. Take that away and it would be virtually impossible to say who's #1.

I agree with the Ring's decision. Before they updated their rankings I thought to myself, Mayweather deserves to be the #1 Welterweight now, but I still think Manny should be #1 p4p and that's what they decided. Pacquiao has done more in a pound for pound sense, but at welterweight, it's Money.
