Andre Ward last fought in November 2013. In May 2015 he is due to be stripped by Ring Magazine if he hasn't got a fight scheduled. Surely he will resolve himself just in time not to lose his lineal title.

If not then could be an odd situation with Froch number 1 and Groves in number 2 if he wins the WBC...

Abraham and Stieglitz are currently 2 and 3.

Would be nice for Froch to capture the Ring title before he retires. Don't think he'd fight Groves again if he became number 2. They let 1 face 3 in odd situations.

Froch should be number 1 as Ward has been inactive for too long to be classed number 1 in rankings in my opinion

Ward is not number 1 he is champion. Froch is number 1 (contender). If ward is stripped of championship, it cannot be won unless number 1 fights number 2/3 or in special circumstances 4 or 5.

Not sure weather ward drops of rankings (until he beats a top 10) or is installed as number 1 instead of champion.
