Cotto was not the #1 WW at the time. Shane was. He was becuase he beat the man (Margo) in such convincing fashion. He deserves the #1 Ranking. Just because a fighter wins in huge event spectacles doesn't make the victory any better, more thrilling, or more exciting.


Pac's victory over Cotto ain't **** compared to Shane's over Margarito.

i think floyd deserves his place. he was ranked high before he retired (and was #1 p4p). though if the reason of him being no. 3 is by beating JMM, hell no.

These divisions are not exactly deep talentwise. Even welterweight at the moemnt. Who do you have? Mosley, Berto, Clottey, Margarito, Cotto, Collazo, Alvarez (Paul william probably can not fit in this division anymore without sacrificing performance). Based on perceived talent level, surely, mayweather would outrank most of these.

In the superwelterweight, we have Foreman, Spinks, Martinez. Heck even the WBC has Chavez Jr. as the number 1 ranked challenger.
