Event of the year is Canelo vs Golovkin.

That’s a good list. But were people that surprised with Ali beating Cotto? Cotto is way past it and this was his last fight. DeGale Truax was a bigger upset. I’m sure you guys can come up with some more.

Well, at least they finally mentioned Rungvisai in at least one category.

I think the only reason he didn't win upset of the year as well was that so many people still scored it for Roman. Truax - Degale would've had my vote.

It's good to see Rung get some love since he has a reasonable argument for fighter of the year, upset of the year, FOTY (Roman I was a great fight!), and knockout of the year. Any kind of breakout star award should be heading his way, too.

    Not bad.

Disagree with FOTY: GGG vs Canelo were two fighters in/near their primes.

KOTY: Rungvisai over Gonzales, better quality opponent. Agree Lemieux's was more sensational.

pretty sure Oscar and the other ladies at Golden Girls would have easily won Ring's coveted Most Crooked Promoter award if they didn't own the damn magazine

Prospect of the year Jaime Munguia? Really? Personally I think he's the most violent of violent KO's waiting to happen. Is he fun to watch.... yes, but he's seemingly never heard of defense, he gets hit clean almost as much as Joe Pigford.
