McGrain, is Little Dada not Little Doda the guy who beat Rinty Monaghan?

    Joe Louis TKO8-9

    Great match-up! Jones KO9.

    Nunn KO4

    Armstrong UD15

    Whitaker UD15

I'm rarely interested in fighters from weights blow lightweight, so I don't know enough to make a prediction here.

They are pretty even. The matchups at hw, lhw and lw are great.

    Tyson ko4 Louis

Jones TKO 8 Conn, but Jones wasnt champ in 89, I think Hill is probably the top then or was it Hearns? I forget. Conn should beat them, although Hearns might outbox him actually

    Nunn wide UD against garcia

    Starling close UD Armstrong

    Whitaker wide UD against Angott

You are bang on about Jones...dunno what happened there, it was indeed Hill. I'll have to change it. What a shame!! That's the best match up.

Not counting any of your votes though, they're to bad.

I rate Conn higher as Jones at lhw but I think Jones would present a puzzle for Conn he wouldn't be able to solve.

It it's Hill, I take Conn by UD.

Not that it matters now, but Jones to knock him out in 9, puzzle or no? Conn's jaw is proven and granite, and Jones was taken the distance by guys like Chirono (Stopped ten times) and couldn't break guys with comparable chins (Toney, Johnson).

    Baffling pick.

True on the other hand he stopped a durable guy like Hill. But yeah, you are right UD would be a pick.

Why do you rate conn higher at LHW, by your own criteria you only judge by fights at the weight, so Conns wins over Apostoli and performance at HW is irrelevant just the same as Jones wins over Toney/Hopkins

At his best Jones stopped nearly every opponent faster than contempary big punchers like J Jackson, Toney, Benn, etc etc, he was stopping guys in 1 or 2 rounds that went the distance with those men. Then you have to factor in Conn is the naturally smaller man. The combination of power, speed and accuracy means prime Jones is a seriously underrated offensive force

Other than Jones he was THE champ at lhw. And yeah Conn's wins over Apostoli were at lhw as both weighed in over the middleweightt limit :deal

How does any of this change the fact that Jones stopped less durable men or that Conn was only stopped whilst flat out green (once) and by perhpaps the best puncher in history (Actually, not pound for pound)?
