    Even though he was at the end he was still active.. ...But your right he is right there with Dempsey,Louis,Marciano(maybe),Ali ... .THe select few boxers that were (or are) known to 95% of this planet..(boxing fan or not).

    I agree only if they were undersized most of the time.... Thats why i rate Holyfield higher than most.

    Dempsey,Maricano,Tunney even Louis etc etc would be cruisers today..ut t they were average sized hws in their day... Holyfield was outszied by just about everyone.. THe only former LH(in olymnpics and deut) and Cruiser to become an atg hw in and era of Giants with skills..

    Most of the giants hws that were around back then were limited fighters... Not so today... Today Giant Old timers like Jess Willard,Buddy Baer,Abe Simon,PRimo Carnera would be steppingstones,Journeyman top 20 hw at best....
