It doesn't seem like they used that criteria...it looks as if they interchanged both talent and resume between weight classes, rarely using both to choose a boxer.

Lewis only fought 3 years this decade but in those 3 years he fought better opponents than the klitcko's.

    Win over
    Michael Grant-prime
    Francois Botha
    Hasim Rahman
    Mike Tyson
    Vitali Klitscko

How can Tarver be there and RJJ not ? When was Tarver ever awarded fighter of the decade ? And Lennox didn't fight nearly the comp that Holyfield did..Like I asked what decades are we talking ??

There should be no heavyweight there for this period. It feels wrong.

He had three fights there and didn't even win them all. Stop the nonsense.

Likewise with Marquez, those two are both bettered by what Marco achieved in such a short space of time at 126lbs. The best Featherweight of the decade was the Mexican. Beating Peden and Medina just doesn't cut it.

    :roll:A good, yet controversal win.

I'm not trying to dump all over Lewis's accomplishments at heavy. Obviously, he was a great fighter. But for fans from the US, he was appreciated more at the end of his career when he was slowing down, rather than his great early victories. Wins over Golota, Ruddock, Tua, Holyfield, Briggs, Tucker and Bruno were far more significant than anything he did in the new millenium. He should not be the top heavyweight.

To me, that still doesn't offset 16 more wins, more wins in title fights (and thus more defenses), and unification occurring in the decade paired against only 1 more loss.

Vitali shouldn't be ranked over him either.

Why mention Kevin Kelley there? He was a shell by then. That was a nothing victory.

For what it's worth, I agree with you though. Should be MAB on the basis of the comp he beat. The Hamed and Morales fights are enough in themselves for me, especially considering I had Pac winning the first JMM fight by a cool 3 points.

Yup, Barrera was the man at 126lbs.

I felt Marquez beat Pacquiao but even that isn't quite good enough to overthrow Barrera.
