Doug has gone for a fairly 'safe' predicition. I can't see Mosley troubling Pac as much as he's predicted though. I agree with most of what has been said on here.. It'll be a very comfortable UD for Pacman against a brave Mosley or a late stoppage after a one sided beating.
I'll be betting on the under (11.5 rounds) in this fight. I envision Shane going for the kill early, not getting it, and taking a sustained beating for about 7-8 rounds and getting a mercy stoppage.
i'm also leaning towards a UD for pac as mosley has a very solid chin which is why he hasn't been KO'd yet in his career. but it is also possible that pac can get a late stoppage due to accumulation of punishment in mosley.
Shane doesn't have the boxing ability to fight Pac on the outside. He lacks the jab, footwork and ring IQ to pull this off. This would be IMO the wrong gameplan to use. Mosley's only chance is to make this an ugly foul filled fight. In which he holds, ties up and roughs up Pac on the inside even hitting on the break. By doing so he can use his superior strenght to wear down and frustrate Pac and break up his rhythm and also take small breaks himself. He must commit early to a sustained body assault and keep this fight out of the middle of the ring at all times. Shane must not follow Pac around blindly looking to load up but rather cut the ring off also while doing this he must use educated pressure behind even a pawing jab and look for his overhand right to catch Pac coming in. If he can't do this Pac will use his superior footwork to tee off on Mosley from all angles and pile up the points to a wide UD win or a late TKO victory.
Great Post! I agree with this being Shanes only chance. I actually think Shane has a good chance if he can bring this type of fight.
Wrong! This is the best way to go about it. Shane doesn't have the skills to outbox Pac from the outside and he's not going to outbox Pac to a win like that. His only chance in this fight is to slow it down and make it a ugly and rough and fouled filled affair, in a hope to frustrate Pac slow him down wear him down and get to his body and catch Pac with something big upstairs and stop him. This is the only way Shane can dictate tempo in the fight. Trying to fight Pac at range with his skillset is one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard, he can't do it and can't dictate tempo like that. Shane at no point in his career was a master boxer and you can't teach an old dog new tricks.:deal So why start now? If he fights Pac that way he will get befuddled by Pac's movement and speed and made to look amatuerish in the process. Lets take a look at what Shane is at this point. He's nothing more than a slugger with above average handspeed, with good pop good chin and size and heart, that's it. Quit trying to make the guy out like he has the tools to get the job done from the outside because he clearly doesn't. He doesn't have the footwork, jab nor the ring IQ to do it. He also has suspect stamina and loads up too much. What he does have are the tools to fight Pac at a distance that makes him uncomfortable and that's up close. This would also allow Shane to slow it down and take breaks on the inside by tieing Pac up. It's his best hope at this point and if I was in Shane's corner it would be the gameplan I would implement for this fight.
I disagree with this. I don't think Shane can outbox Pac, but in my opinion that's his best strategy and the strategy I expect Nazim to tell him to implement. I don't think he can win either way... However, if he brings the fight to Pac, Pac's footspeed and handspeed is so fast that Shane will get the **** beat outta him and counterpunched like a mother ****er. And if he tries to grab on, he's going to get combination punched as he grabs air. He needs to relax and fight from the outside and pray that he can control Pac.
He can't do anything from the outside I'm sorry. Atleast up close he can fight Pac at a range where he doesn't like it and at a tempo he doesn't like either. If Naz actually tells Shane to fight from the outside then he's not the trainer I thought he was. Also I do believe Shane can hold Pac, hit him and tie up immediately.
I think Nazim is going to try to utlize the same natural advantages he would use if it was B HOP. I think he'll instruct Mosley to fight like B HOP did against Calzghe. Personally, I feel like this is the best strategy, and Shane's best chance, but I just don't think he has enough left or like you said, basically the proper fundamentals to do the job. I think if he brings the fight at Pac, Pac will either get off first, or counter the **** outta Shane and Shane won't be able to grab onto Pac. Pac isn't a guy who willingly clinches, and his footwork and angles are good enough combined with Shane's age and inability to fight inside effectively (see Mora), that Mosley will be helpless and Pac will give him the beating of a life time and make him look like he was in a car accident. If you go by 360, Nazim is talking about being patient and focused, which is certainly not the rough type of fights you're refering to. I don't think he can win either way... Honestly... But I would just try to control the pace, utilize my reach, box, and tie him up when he gets close, no infighting... I think that's his best chance of not getting the **** beat outta him.
