Many of the Latin countries were under the Spanish rule at some point, so. Anyway, you are absolutely right, according to "The American Century Dictionary." I don't see Americans calling themselves Brits, though. Please look at some other global sources to obtain valid information about other countries and cultures.
You guys must be pretty bored to debate as long as you have over what quantifies a "Russian". Give it a rest. Back to the subject, J.C. Gomez probably should be in the top 10.
It is not that I am bored. It is my principles. I have nothing against the Russians. In fact one of my best friends is Russian. However, just because I speak Russian and was born in the Soviet Union (consisted of 15 different countries) does not make me one. And I don't want some ignorant dicitionary editor to interpret the opposite.
How Scam Cheater is ranked #2 is beyond comprehension. It just goes to show you how corrupt this sport is now. Absolutely no wins over any top guys except a shot James Toney and he's ranked 2?
The same James Toney who knocked out Holyfield, and beat Ruiz and had a draw with Rahman. I myself feel that Peter should be 2 or 3, if beats Maskaev in march I cant see how even the biggest Peter hater could have him any only lower than 3 on the top 10 Heavyweight list.
I respect your decision, but why? What has Iggy down in his career to overshaddow what Peter has done? Iggy beat Briggs and Holyfield, Peter beat Mccline and Toney, both of which beat Briggs and Holyfield a couple years back. Iggy had a hard time getting a draw with Austin, an oppenent Peter would probably blow out in a couple rounds. I can really only see Wlad and Chagaev being ranked ahead of Peter based on most there recent accomplishments, if you do the research Peter deserves to be ahead of Iggy at the moment.
For the hell of it, here are the Ring rankings from March '07 for comparison. C - 1 Wlad 2 Peter 3 Maskaev 4 Valuev 5 Briggs 6 Liakhovich 7 Brewster 8 Toney 9 Chagaev 10 Ruiz
AGREED. that is very fair right now i have it 1-Wlad 2-Sultan 3-chagaev 4-Oleg 5-Peter 6-Povetkin 7-Valuev 8-Gomez 9-Chambers 10-Virchis after wlad and peter win: C-Wlad 1-Chagaev 2-Peter (could even make him #1 contender if he is dominant) or after wlad and maskaev win: C-Wlad 1-Chagaev 2-Oleg 99-Mccline 100-Sam Peter :nut
Sultan, Chagaev, Peter, Povetkin, Maskaev and maybe valuev are kinda all lumped together at this point. None of them have had a standout performance to distinguish them as the legit #2. Iggy will be brutally knocked out so cross him off. But Peter has a big chance to do this w/a ko of maskaev. my brain says peter but im hoping for an oleg victory for obvious reasons which will have u sporting another brilliant boxingGuru avatar :hi:
i was very impressed with peter after that fight. he showed tremendous chin, heart, and determination.
I doubt it, but if Peter does lose by some freak accident, I might leave ESB for awhile, I dont think I could take guys like you, RUSKULL, and boxingGuru, making threads about Peter losing. That being said, Peter is going to make a huge statement by knocking Maskaev out in short fashion.:yep
