What about Dariusz Michaelchewski. In 1999 he reigned 5 years as WBO lightheavy champ unified it with the IBF and WBC belts by defeating Virgil Hill and just lost those two again because the sanctioning bodies thought they could make more money with Jones. He definitly has more of a shot for the then-time p4p top10 than Hopkins- and I am a big Hopkins fan, he is my favourite fighter of all time!

Ten years from now, those in the current top 10 will have a lot better resume than the top 10 list ten years from now.

P4P is a load of ****. I'm surprised Winky Wright isn't still in the top 10.
There's no way of proving who is the best fighter pound for pound.

Floyd was only pro a year or 2 and he was rated no.2. Thats amazing. The list back then also had a better talent pool.

The thing is, it looks that way because those fighters has established themselves even more. I mean for example, we all know PBF is great...but back then when he was no.2, he wasnt considered as great then as he is now...so that may have been considered a weak no.2.

If for example Donaire goes unto become an ATG and still on the list in 10years time...we would think thats a really strong spot at 6.

NALLEGE has all the credibility in the world, having been a self-admitted former WORLD CHAMPION in the sport. You should listen to what he says! Ask him what title he won while you're at it.

Regarding the actual thread, good post. PBF, Shane, and B-Hop have definitely kept the list's quality as high as possible. I think the fact that two fighters who have been as great BUT INACTIVE as they have (Vazquez and R. Marquez) without anyone else having a legitimate argument to take their spots shows that the list from 7 on down is very weak.
