I think today's list compares very well to that list from back then. I don't know wtf Caballero is doing there though. Apart from that, all very solid names.

Right now Pacquiao is the one with the longest p4p top10 streak still running.

Hopkins was off when he lost twice to Taylor. PBF when he had to retire and give his body a break. Mosley probably when he lost to Forrest or Winky.

I think Pac has been on it non-stop since he beat Barrera. or somethinglike taht

Yeah, those people who do probably started watching boxing around 2001. Or maybe even later because all they know is what people tell them on this board.

I don't think it's a hard argument at all to make, since Dawson's resume lacks the two biggest names in one of boxing's shallowest divisions. It's not his fault a Dawson or Calzaghe fight didn't materialize, but I can't give him the credit as if they did.

Wlad has unified titles, destroyed his competition in more convincing fashion, reigned longer, has more defenses, and fought more contenders than Dawson has. Dawson, while a talented fighter, still isn't "the man" in his own division and has never been to this point.

That Dawson is the one given the benefit of the doubt in those kinds of scenarios shows my point precisely as far as how natural biases play out.

I guess we'll just agree to disagree. I have Wlad just outside of my top 10, so it's not like I have him in the middle of nowhere, but I'd rank Adamek, Tarver and Johnson P4P higher than I'd rank anyone Klitschko has beaten since his last loss. Klitschko has a lot more good wins overall than Dawson though.

The way I see it, it is by Default, he didnt beat Floyd for it, Floyd basicly retired for a long time really and told manny to keep his seat warm for him until he gets back...

Mannys last 2 performances got him that rating by default... its really a mirage... it will for sure change in two weeks...:hey

Interesting how Floyd, Shane, and BHop dominated for an entire decade and yet neither of them was voted fighter of the decade. I guess being consistent and dominate is not nearly as great as having a good couple of years.

How the **** does PW fit but not Martinez?

Martinez arguably won against PW and on top of it all handed out a shellacking to Kelly Pavlik, thus claiming belts at two weight divisions.

cmon Nallege...i think Floyd is better than manny BUT THAT DONT CHANGE THE FACT THAT MANNY PROVED HE WAS THE BEST IN NOVEMBER AND THEREFORE HE SHOULD INFACT BE #1 TODAY..I THINK IT WOULD BE MORE OF A JOKE IF THEY GAVE FLOYD THE 1 SPOT:good
