How do you guys rate the triumvirate of Ross, Canzoneri, McLarnin? Amongst eachother, and all-time overall?

Despite achieving less than the others, everything i've heard, seen and read points to jimmy being perhaps the most talented of the 3. I think h2h he's a phenomenal talent.

If McLarnin's main source is going to be H2h, what do you make of Ross taking the series against him?

Secondly, when you say achieving less, what do you mean? In terms of title or resume?

Close fights with ross and styles make fights. I just think jimmy had a style that would have suited better against a wider range of opponents.

No, I mean the broadest sense of the term: it's rare to see jimmy above ross or tony on any p4p lists. Despite this I have a niggly feeling he was actually the better of the 3.

Also the smaller Canzoneri went 1-1 with him...I dunno what to make of it really, it's definitely tough and i have some of the same feelings.

When I first saw footage of Corbett III, that's what I felt. It might be the single greatest stoppage there is.

Thanks for uploading that by the way :good Having already rated him high due to what I'd read on him, it was great to see him,

And some were disappointed when they saw him :-(

McLarnin ****ing decimated him. Incredible way to take the Welterweight title, especially considering he'd been through the weights (and the wars) already.

How are we rating his win over Villa? Villa was suffering of course, and McLarnin was obviously the naturally bigger guy, but Jimmy was nowhere near his peak, although he had been round the houses with LaBarba already.

Yeah, a good and notable win as long as you take goodly notice of the circumstances.

It's crazy as you go through the histories of the lower weights I kept seeing guys losing early on or in non title fights to mclarnin, he was a beast.
