What weight class does Chavez actually compete in or was he just inserted in to the list for the sake of the Froch fight ?
Maybe Sturm for a AA fight? I'm a fan of Froch and after 2 mandatories he has a right to choose who he wants to fight BUT yea don't insert fighters into rankings they don't belong in. Go give a look at the other weights see anything equally as horrible?
Oh god I won't look ,I just looked through a lot of Rings and it's sad that at one point people wanted Ring to replace Alphabets and their just as bad....
Sturm did fight Stieglitz to a draw and isn't far removed from a title run at the weight below Chavez is another story How ya feel about the other 8 names
I'm a Froch fan as well but Chavez jr hasn't even fought at SMW has he ? I'm certain it has to do with his last name and his ties to the Suliman's
Looking at The Ring website they current have it : Ward Froch Abraham Groves Degale Stieglitz Dirrell Ramirez Dirrell Chavez Sturm
Not that I have a better list but I feel like AA Groves and Degale are too high as is Stieglitz. Maybe the division has hit a weak period
What's funnier is Chaves is fighting a LHW who isn't ranked at SMW next. Yea Fonfara isn't as bad as a opponent I am sure he could of found instead.
The era feels pretty weak if these are the best. Froch hasn't fought in a year, Ward a rated SMW since Froch, Anthony Dirrel fought am ancient Bika and now Badou Jack who was knocked out by a journeyman, Degale was beaten by Groves, Groves was destroyed by Froch and has fought mediocre opponents since, AA doesn't deserve to be a champ, Sturm shouldn't be rated, Andre Dirrel hasn't fought anyone good since when AA was considered in contention, Steilgitz won't fight anybody but 2 blown up MWs , it's a **** show.
