Juan Manuel Lopez’s TKO victory over Rafael Marquez elevates Lopez from No. 2 to No. 1, while Marquez retains his No. 9 spot. Also advancing is Yuriorkis Gamboa, who moves from No. 3 to No. 2. Chris John (No. 1 last week) drops to No. 3. “John’s demotion was based on inactivity and the fact that his scheduled comeback opponent, Fernando David Saucedo, has built his record against extremely modest opposition and has not had a bout scheduled for more than eight rounds since 2007,” said Collins http://www.ringtv.com/blog/2495/ring_rating_update_johnson_earns_super_middleweight_rating/
Considering John's inactivity, I suppose that's fair enough. If he fights, and defeats, Gamboa in March, then he should be re-instated at #1.
I like this change. Makes a lot of sense... can't really argue with it. I agree that if John beats Gamboa then he should be #1 again.
