Is this absurd or what? When will they end this Cotto/Alvarez farce? It's like they are trying to wipe out Golovkin's entire reign from the record books.

GGG is only #1 by Ring because Golden Boy wants Canelo to beat the #1 P4P fighter to make him look more amazing.

    Oscar is a sly fox.

    Lomachenko should be #1

Wonder if Oscar will own 2 or 3 judges, we know he will own the referee and boxing commission! El Pollo will find a way to cheat once again! Golovkin needs to go for the knockout from round one!

The big elephant standing in the room here is why Canelo is still on the list.
Of course they won't be updating it before the Loma fight this weekend, which should soldify his #1 status if he wins impressively. But it seems they purposely haven't been updating inbetween to avoid the glaring Canelo issue.

He's listed as #1 at MW and he had to chance to take the crown off Canelo last year but he blew it.

Canelo holding the championship is a farce. The guy hasn't a MW victory to his name.

GGG being ranked ahead of Canelo P4P is pro-Canelo corruption.

These conspiracies are laughable. It's clearly just because Canelo beat Cotto, GGG didn't.

Well, technically speaking; Canelo is 5(3)-0-1 at MW.

Even if we are going to say that the lineal champ deserves first ranking, there is a precedent in Ring Magazine for not ranking the lineal champ #1 in his division. Their very first official rankings in 1924, the Light Heavyweight Champion Mike McTigue was listed as the fourth best light heavyweight in the world, after Gene Tunney, Young Stribling, and Kid Norfolk.

I think it's fair to rank the lineal champ #1 regardless OR to rank the lineal champ anywhere in the division. Rankings are merely up to the beholder.

As far as people wanting The Ring to "strip" Canelo, keep wishing. I've been waiting for them to strip Tyson Fury for two whole years and they refused so expecting anything more from them in regards to Canelo seems silly, haha.

I think Lomachenko is #1 and Golovkin #2, or the other way around..................El Pollo? A cheat! He is champ of the hen house, hell, he does not want to fight a rooster, he wants to fight a hen........................
