    Let's get it straight:

    1. Fury claimed his Whyte fight would be his last in the build up.

    2. Right after the fight he said it was his last fight.

    3. In June 2022 he claimed he's retired.

    4. On 12/08/22 he makes an official retirement announcment on Twitter.

    5. On 13/08/22 The Ring Magazine calls him to confirm his retirement. He confirms it. He also confirms his retirement with the WBC.

    6. His Netflix documentary that dropped a year later shows his life during this time where he and his wife are clearly under he impression he's retired.

    7. After he re-retired he claimed he's on the comeback trail.

The Ring had every right to consider him retired, especially that the no. 1 vs no. 2 match-up was incoming and the division can't stand still just because Fury is bi-polar and may change his mind like a joke that he is. If he wasn't retired he shouldn't be saying it for 4 months straight. He's got only himself to blame.

They should rather leave slot #9 and #10 vacant if there's no one worthy. Ajagba and Huni haven't fought nobody in the top 15.

The division wasn't at a standstill.

Fury had made his mandatory a couple months earlier against Whyte. He had a whole year to decide whether he was going to fight again.

And the guys who fought to replace him fought once that year, and said "that's it for us, see you in 2023." They fought fewer times than Fury did in 2022.

Also, actions always speak louder than words. Fury told Sulaimain he was retired, and the next week he wasn't. Same with Ring. All the while, Fury tried to make fights that summer and fall with Chisora, Ngannou, Joshua, Usyk, Ruiz, Joyce ... and, after all was said and done, in his last three fights he ended up fighting half of them.

Ring writers don't tend to call up boxers and demand they tell them if they are fighting again. They don't have a stash of Ring Belts in a closet waiting to throw on a jet and present to a boxer on short notice.

Ring writers just wanted another heavyweight champion in 2022. So they saw the opportunity "to pretend" Fury was gone for good, when everyone knew he wasn't. And they "pretended" he was retied as long as they could, because if they rated him again right away, they'd look bad.

Let the fighters in the ring decide who the champion is. Ring doesn't need to try to create new champs themselves.

Side note: Don't take anything you see on a reality show as reality.

They don't need to leave it vacant. But their reasons for dropping Hrgovic, who beat top 10-rated Zhang but lost to top 10-rated Dubois, and adding Huni are pretty weak.

Are they going to drop Joshua out of the current top 10 if he loses to Dubois, too (to go with Joshua's two losses to Usyk and only one win six years ago against Parker)? If Joshua loses to Dubois, he'll have a record of 1-3 against the current Ring top 10.

I'm going to say NO WAY IN HELL Joshua falls out of the top 10 if he loses in September.

And why are they so into Otto Wallin? How does his name keep coming up?

Wallin's name got brought up when trying to decide if Huni should be in. Otto Wallin?

That transcript just shows how they don't put any more thought into it than any org does.

    I haven't said I don't give Huni credit.
Far from. I haven't said he might not go on to became a great.
What I have implied or said is that I feel there are other fighters who I would have rated above at this time including some coming off losses who I still think in my opinion should be rated higher
I don't think I would have him in the top 15 at this time

    Edit
The above is not a slur. He has only had 10 fights

At this current time I would have Wallin rated above Huni with the win over Gassiev
