A comparison with the Holmes-Berbick fight didn't occur to me at first, but now that I think of it, I can easily picture Holmes-Bonavena unfolding the same way. There were similarities between Bonavena and Berbick. Indeed.
Actually Trevor and Oscar were very much alike ... Berbick was bigger and likely a bit stronger ... Oscar have have hit a bit harder ... both were very awkward, tough, bruisers .... Many forget the young Berbick but he was a tough customer ... watch his fights against John Tate and Greg Page ... he even stood up to Larry for the ful 15, losing without question but not giving an inch either ...

Bonavena would give Holmes some rough moments, but Larry would use that Jab of his to keep Oscar in line.Larry wins by a unanimous decision over 15.
Larry's chin was china, Oscar was not only a huge hitter but technically the best fighter ever. I say he finds the perfect spot around the first punch he throws, Ringo, KO1
Very one sided fight and a stylistic nightmare for Oscar. Holmes did anything that Jmmy Ellis could do, only better, and he hit harder and was meaner, that is more cruel than Ali. If Holmes didn't lapse, he would stop Oscar and look better than either Ellis or Ali in doing so.
