Criteria: "The best ever at turning out an opponent's lights with one punch." 1 - Joe Louis 2 - Ray Robinson 3 - Tommy Hearns 4 - Bob Foster 5 - Sandy Saddler 6 - Earnie Shavers 7 - Sam Langford 8 - Stanley Ketchel 9 - Jack Dempsey 10- Mike Tyson That's pretty bad, ain't it?
Where the **** is Julian Jackson?!? If there has been a better one punch knock out artist I haven't seen them and you only have to watch the Buster Drayton, Terry Norris or Herol Graham fights to see how well he fits the criteria. Typical Ring piece of **** list with a clear American bias as per usual. No wonder I don't buy it anymore.
I bought this issue last week and thought that it was put together rather apathetically. Actually no list would satisfy fans. Here's my list. 1. Julian Jackson 2. Rockabye Ruben 3. Joe Louis 4. Tommy Hearns 5. Archie Moore 6. Alexis Arguello 7. Carlos Zarate 8. Rocky Marciano 9. Felix Trinidad 10. Bob Foster
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Sam Langford make the list AND honorable mentions? Shows how seriously we should take anything The Ring says anymore. Oh how the mighty have fallen......
It actually kinda makes sense that Langford makes both lists given the transformation he went through as a puncher
Other than Jackson, which non-American fighters would you have on the list? Replacing whom? Just curious
How about Fitzsimmons instead of any? Wilde, Trinidad, Mugabi, Olivares, Zarate, Danny Lopez, Tua, all have a case.
