Senya's ringside reports answer your remarks better than I could.
How about you answer my question about whether Smith should be credited with a tko over Johnson on his record? I asked you two questions ,you ignored them both, as per usual.

How do you account for Langford brutally koing Smith a year later, flooring him inthe 1st and 2nd rds before bombing him out in the 3rd?

Wow that's such an amazing source of research.

Detailed RBR as well it paints a vivid picture.

That actually sounds like a fairly even fight despite what I'd previously read on the matter.

It doesn't seem like smith swept the first 7, some of the earlier rounds indicate langford scored better shots especially in 4 and 5.

Either way it seems the majority of people actually felt that smith deserved the victory

"9 out of 10 men agreed with Mr Fleming"

I don't like judging a fight based on crowd reaction because it does seem they were booing sam's shape and lack of defence more than the result from what I can gather there.

Changes the way I view sam's "reign of terror" certainly.

Hey a&&hole, I told you 10 times, I am a busy man these days. I read lots of threads here and just don't have time to see all threads or reply to them all. My posting time is mostly relegated to the early morning these days, or on weekends.

We have been over this before. Johnson in his prime meet Smith in a 4 round exhibition match. The result was he was knocked down, and too dazed to continue, to the point where his manger pulled him out and halted the action before the final distance. Johnson could not continue. Call this what you wish. It is possible to get knocked out in the gym in unofficial matches you know. Smith had ability, was in his prime, had some height and could hit some...which means he was likely better than anyone Johnson beat as champion.

I think Langford was a great pound for pound fighter, and figured Smith out the second time around. Langford wasn't going to out jab Smith. This is why Smith took many of the early rounds in the first match. To beat him, Sam had to press the action early, which he did in the re-match. Smith had a short pirme, and might have even been on the decline for the re-match.

You are a "busy man", but not too busy to post, just too busy to answer inconvenient questions .

ONCE AND FOR ALL. Smith put Johnson halfway through the ropes in a SPARRING SESSSION HE DID NOT TKO HIM.HE DID NOT KNOCK HIM DOWN , BUT EVEN IF HE HAD, IT WAS NOT A BOXING MATCH, IT WAS A SPARRING SESSION..We have Smith's own account of this from a 1972 taped interview with Peter Heller for his excellent book In This Corner. NOW, LET'S HAVE AN END TO THESE LIES.
