Johnson's an ok fighter, he won't beat Golovkin but it might make for a fun, and short, fight. Johnson won't do much for Golovkin resume wise but it will keep him busy and keep his momentum rolling, unless he looks bad. I love Golovkin's commitment to keeping busy. Even if you get some guys you know he'll beat its nice to see a top level fighter staying active year in and out. After this fight(if it is next) a lot of other middleweights will be free for a summer fight. Lemieux-N'Dam winner, Lee if he wins, or even Saunders, Eubank, or a top 154 guy like Andrade or Lara. I think Monroe would have been a tougher challenge than Johnson, especially style wise, but I'm glad that's not next. While Golovkin takes care of Johnson and presumably a bigger fight in the summer, Monroe will be able to get a fight or two himself in. Give Monroe some more experience and with his style he could be an interesting option for Golovin in a years time.
