    Don't think he wants it. Haye fought in the UK with a licence from Luxembourg so if Rio really wanted to fight as a pro I reckon he could....

    So many fighters wanted nothing to do with Rio.

    Hearn put a little word in to make sure Rio wasn't getting his licence.

    Wow, to be worse than Flintoff was and get denied a licence for some Reality TV style documentary....

    Ferdinand must have been a really really bad boxer most likely with very poor punch resistance.

    I would like to see the behind close doors massacre, he was probably shot to the canvas and thats why the documentary and his licence have both been ended.

    Still at least he has his gold digging gf for a few more years...

    Whilst I always thought this was farcical we see some awful boxers get licenced here and the BBBoC sanctions some terrible fights between ridiculously out of shape eastern euro doormen and cab drivers.

    Rio is at least in great shape and has a good trainer in Woodhall. Could have at least given him a 4 rounder against a can.

    Rumor has been doing the rounds from a someone who knows people in Matchroom, that Robert McCracken was keeping a watchful eye of his training and saw something special. Similar to how Manny Steward had foreseen a special talent in Fury predicting him to be the next future champion after Wlad's reign of terror.

    He was so impressed, that he was on the verge of cutting ties with the AJ camp. Apparently he didn't believe he could take the champ anything further with Rio on the cusp of making his debut.

    Hearn begged him to sleep on it and reconsider. However the next morning came and Rob had arisen from his bed and told Hearn in no uncertain terms, that he's made up his mind to train up and take Rio under his wing to help build the next great unprecedented legacy in boxing.

    Eddie's heart sank, as he buried his face in his hands, whilst at complete loss as to what to do..

    That's when the BBBoC intervened and put a spanner in the works of Rio's career. They didn't take the decision lightly from what I've been told. However they had to weigh and consider the huge investments that Sky, Britain and the British public have in AJ that they couldn't afford to see their boy get turned over by the Contender.

    Could have easily got a licence, especially with the money involved. Must have realised it wasn't for him, and this is the perfect get out.
