Rios; by largely the same result. High action (maybe not quite as much as the first) and a grind down stoppage. Rios can take Alvarado's best. Alvarado cannot take Rios' best. I hear it's a 12 rounder, which makes me think even a little less of Alvarado's chances.
Rios will win again but the fight will not be as good as the first, i got a feeling alvarado will try to box more.
I agreed with Alvarados trainer who said Mike fought great but let Rios get away with too much Mike was winning and proved with space he could outbox Rios and when he got room to throw the right could hurt Rios I think alvarado can avoid the slugfest and box and potentially fend off Rios to win the rematch
I think Mike can win this... he was winning the first one and although Rios was able to take some massive shots if the fight had gone to the 8th round or later i wonder if Rios would have been able to keep coming forward after getting ripped in the body and head with so many big shots. Mike basically needs to fight smart - not brave. Out jab rios and landed the right behind it. In close he needs to make sure to invest in the body - rip a couple of shots then tie Brandon up and lean on him smother him a little - dont get into a hooking war with him. If he does get caught with something big dont get disoraganised get your guard back up and if you get the chance create some distance. and maybe invest in the upercut more in the clinch
BIG Bam Bam fan AND I got him winning by TKO again. HOWEVER, I'm not too pumped up about this fight as weird as that may sound. To me it feels like it's a step back in the career of Bam Bam wasting half the year with the same guy. It'll be fun but I kinda just want to get it out of the way.
I'll watch it because I love boxing but Rios is not a PPV attraction. He can't headline an event. In the first Alvarado fight it wasn't even the main event. The only reason why everybody watched Rios-Alvarado 1 was because everybody wanted to see Donaire and Nishioka.
