  1. This is a crossroads match similar to the paulie/zab "battle for brooklyn" fight we saw last year. paulie won and got a championship match with porter while judah hasnt fought since. The winner in the alvarado/rios match will get set up for another pay day while the other will either reflect on possible retirement or possibly get relegated to gatekeeper status.

I think TR would favor Rios because he’s younger and has a little less mileage than alvarado, who has lost quite convincingly in his last two outings, both of which he took a beating.
TR may be looking at alvarado as a cash out candidate. he’s 34 – he’s fought a ton of tough matches – i feel that this may be his last chance for a push. although a set back, a loss to alvarado may not be as damaging to rios. the manny loss was expected. although it was an ugly affair, at least he beat chaves. and although he lost to alvarado in the 2nd match, that went the distance.
Alvarado, on the other hand, took a TKO against rios in the first match and was pummeled by provo, resulting in the first time that alvarado tasted the canvas.
