'This would be my first big show': Brandon Rios responds to Floyd's invitation

Earlier today a report broke on ***********.com stating that Floyd Mayweather Jr., who faces Victor Ortiz this Saturday night in Las Vegas, had reserved a pair of tickets for WBA lightweight champion Brandon Rios and his trainer Robert Garcia in order for them to attend the event. A sly move by Mayweather, who knows fully well of the bad blood that exists between the camps of Rios and Ortiz.

Upon hearing the news, I reached out to Rios, who seemed taken back by Mayweather’s invitation.

“Robert called me when I was training, but I didn’t know about what,” said Rios. “I thought it was about my opponent but he told me and I was like ‘Damn, that’s crazy. That’s badass’.”

Rios: “This would be my first big show that I would have gone to. It’s pretty crazy. I can’t believe that somebody like Mayweather invited me to his show. That’s pretty amazing. That’s awesome,” said an elated Rios.

As for his own training, Rios’ spirits are high and he has been getting great work with a familiar name in the welterweight class.

“Right now camp is going very well. I train at twelve and I’ve been helping [Jesus] Soto Karass get ready for his fight in October. The sparring sessions are pretty great. It’s awesome. It’s just great sparring. They asked me into camp and they just accept me. Not only that, but it helps out myself as well and it helps him out. I get him in shape and he gets me in shape.”

Rios just told us earlier today, he has not decided if he will go or not.

 

Next you'll be hearing about Mayweather inviting Ortiz's parents.

 

It won't happen. Garcia isn't that tasteless, can't say the same for Rios though.

 

A bit of quality mind games from Floyd. Ortiz could easy trump him by asking Pacquaio and Roach to walk him into the ring though:hey.

TBF I dont think this makes much difference as I expect Floyd to decimate him anyway.

 

Floyd is trying to pull out every trick in the book,but i think ortiz is in the zone and win or lose,floyd is in for a tough fight.

 

Yeah, and Ortiz should be accompanied by Manny Pacquaio, and Freddie Roach.

 

Maybe Rios can do his Roach impersonation and work the corner for Floyd alongside Roger.

But seriously Floyd should be trying to fix his relationship with his old man instead of trying to inflict more damage in someone elses family.
