I agree two times in a row is absolutely disgraceful, hes going in to the ring a MW thats ridiculous. Should be fined basically his whole purse. Just enough to cover costs.
He'd do well to take time off, keep in shape but let body recover and fight at Welterweight. Light Welter might be to much for him... Should be heavily fined anyways, him and his team can't manage the weight or know and just don't bother.
I'd like to imagine he wouldn't have to lose more than 30 lbs to make weight. No fighter should lose more than 20 lbs to make weight.
It depends what the 20lbs is though.... is it simply beer and takeaway fuelled blubber, or natural, healthy weight?
When he didnt make weight against john murray he had to weigh in at 149 the next day and didnt he have to cut for that? Just checked it was 147
All you people who have been in a gym, maybe had a spar,or the more experienced of you whos had a couple of amateur does, i think this covers 90% of the key board warriors and weightmaking experts. SOMETIMES, money, TITLE oppertunities, BIG fights etc etc make decisions for a fighter wether he moves up or down in weight, But the main question should be, he was much more drawn in on the second weigh in, yet a full 2lb heavier, he looked suprised at that himself !
There will be nothing wrong with his diet and training hes just too big to make the weight. Bet he puts on a extra 15-20lbs now it wouldn't surprise me at all if he come in very close to 160lbs. The guys in shape he just physically couldn't loose anymore time to move up.
