So, is this fight still on? You guys are talking and talking but this fight is still not official. If it happens, I got Gamboa by UD or late TKO. You guys are forgetting something very important, Gamboa's huge amateur background. In Cuba all small fighters spar with much more heavier boxers as this helps them in their fights. I am very sure that Gamboa has sparred boxers in the 140-145lbs before with no problem. It's not the weight difference, it's the skills, the ring IQ, the speed and the movements who win fights. The Cubans are not toe to toe fighters like the Mexs and I see Gamboa just boxing him very smartly and beating him to the punch in almost every round.

And yes, Gamboa has the power to hurt Rios because of his speed. The punch that you don't see is the one that hurts and Gamboa has plenty of those, just ask Mtagwa! ;)

It looks like official , it's also at the scene.
Not that I believe el Nuevo herald 100%, but it seems a done deal

Can't wait for this fight! Rios better hope Gamboa doesn't get comfortable early, or else his king rooster side will come out and when Gamboa is studding like that, he is a killer. I know Rios has got Conte in his corner to help with nutrition now, so he may be able to make weight in a healthy manner this time.

Great fight to make. Props to Gamboa for wanting to inject his name into the P4P best conversations by fighting the best 2 divisions north of him.

It's shamefull that Cuban elite fighters feel obligued to go up 2 divisions in order to land good fights . Soon Rigo would have to do the same ... shame . Peace .:-(

I think having to get down to lightweight is gonna be Rios' undoing.

I like Gamboa's chances in this fight.

Well, I've been on the Gamboa bandwagon since day one and I'm not getting off anytime soon. It would show amazing confidence to jump up two weight divisions to fight a monster who really should be at 140.

One thing - Gamboa doesn't have a bad chin. Most of his knockdowns were as a result of him being off-balance and a little reckless. The only time he even looked a little hurt was when Jiminez hit him with his forearm. That's not to say Rios can't hurt him though - his size, strength and power mean he almost certainly can - but being down several times doesn't automatically mean you can't take a punch.

This is the toughest fight of both guys careers and I think Gamboa can do it. Yuri by decision, where Rios blames being weight-drained for the loss.

either Gamboa gets destroyed or its gonna be one of those "speed kills" fights like Pac vs Margarito.
