I've never been high on Rios. I think Gamboa should take him apart as long as he can avoid getting caught with something stupid. Gamboa just has that habit of standing in front of his opponents squared up..

I think Rios is too big and strong if he comes into the fight healthy and prepared. Gamboa has to put on a very special performance to win this one.

i think gamboa will outbox rios for 3 rounds. his only chance of a KO imo is here.
however, after that rios comes on and totally ****s gamboa sideways.
    like cotto-marg 1.

Rios tried to get Gamboa to 140. It will be interesting to see if the nutritionist can get Rios down to 135

If Rios is not weight drained he's gonna bully the **** out of Gamboa. What a great fight this is though, very intriguing.

I'm not sure who to pick. I'm a big fan of both guys and it's a very interesting stylistic match-up. At the minute I'm leaning towards Rios a little bit simply because of the huge weight advantage.

There are two things I know for sure, Gamboa has some ****ing huge cajones and this is gonna be a great fight. Its the kind of fight we deserve after all the Mayweather-Pacquaio bull****.

    :thumbsup

Rios is my boy . but im going with gamboa . this is going to be a really fun one to watch!!! as long as rios makes 135. im so worried rios wont make 135 . it would ruin the fight almost making it not worth watching. our sport doesnt need any more controversy .

The most improbable outcome is a Gamboa KO...people who are picking that really must not follow either of these two fighters very closely.

Your parameters for the definition of 'skill' need to be re-outlined.

First of all, much respect to Gamboa, Rios and Top Rank for giving us fans a terrific matchup!

Second off, this IMO is going to resemble Pac vs. Diaz. Gamboa I believe will not only be faster, but equally as strong. Gamboa might have the same problem Pacman had for many years in killing himself to make these lower weights. If so, that would also take care of some of Gamboa's issues in the chin department much like it did for Pac.

Gamboa well more than likely start off very defensive and feel out Rios power for a few rounds. Once Gamboa settles in he will open up that amazing offensive attack after 3 rounds or so and completely overwhelm the much slower Rios. This will be a great fight, and unlike the Pac-Diaz fight, Rios will have his moments. In the end, the Cyclone will have too much speed and precision power to overwhelm the Tj tornado Jr.
