He might know what he's doing, but he's as crude as they come. His defence is appalling on the inside, he's just tough enough and powerful enough to carry the punches.

    Matthysse would annihilate him.

What really impresses me of Rios is his freaking chin. His inside game is full of holes,he gets hit with every shot, but the mofo just laugh at it and keeps coming.

 No he's not. He's ridiculously tough and his will to win his ridiculously high, but he ain't no master operator on the inside. He's just a power-house that relies on his durability to see you break down before he does. If he was ridiculously skilled on the inside, he wouldn't have been bamboozled by Abril.

Really? Abril was just using old school spoiling. Ugly? Yes. Illegal? No.

If Rios was particularly good on the inside, he wouldn't have been so susceptible to Abril's tactics.

i'm a fan of Rios and he's fun to watch.
but "ridiculously skilled on the inside" is an accolade he's unworthy of.
he out-fought Alvarado but was crude, scrappy and alot of shots were tired looking without much pop. in the end he was able to get to Mike, and sure enough- when he had him hurt his sharpness came back, as he went for the finish.
great win for Brandon and i'm glad he did after the Abril performance, but he has a long way to go to 'til he can be elite level. I'd love to see him fight Marquez for sure, but i think he's tailor made for Juan; Marquez wouldn't be able to stop him but he would feed him counters all night and get a points win.

if I take away the "ridiculously" in the title you'd all agree, no? because obviously we all know Rios isn't great defensively. You need to be James Toney to have "ridiculously" put in there, right?

He's got limited skills and does a good job with them. But if he was better on the inside he wouldn't have been mugged by Abril.

So, you think Dirrell easily deserved the decision against Froch, right?

Holding IS illegal. It is the ref's job to break it up and take points if excessive. **** job by the refs but the judges took it into account in scoring.

Rios is damn good on the inside, Abril is a ****ing joke and I'm astonished anyone would try and push him as legit.

You have absolutely no evidence of this. I could just as easily say that Top Rank paid the judges off and "they took it into account in scoring."
