Rios TKO3 Antillon - short, yes...but FOTY so far?

    Too many Williams-Lara threads - even with a bunch of them getting merged. We could discuss that topic until blue in the face...but most of us already have. :yep Let's shift the focus back to the MUCH better main event from last night, and the one with the more satisfying conclusion (although a few predictable goons did whine about the stoppage).

    That was several minutes of high-octane, barbaric, human demolition derby. These guys weren't throwing punches at each other; they were firing ordnance.

    That it even entered the 3rd is pretty amazing. I literally lost count of all the hooks and uppercuts landing flush.

    That stoppage was a little quick, and may have deprived us of a real spectacular finish. Refs these days panic and stop fights way too quickly. Let them go to their natural conclusions.

    2nd that, however the stoppage last night was not too quick...:nono when you hear the shots up close rather than on TV its a huge difference and when Rios connected those shots had the perefect crack sound to them as if he were hitting Antillon with a stick....

    No way that was stopped too quick..The ref wouldn't of interfered, Rios would of serisouly hurt Antillon, the way he was staggering around.

    Eh, may'be. It's definitely better than Ortiz-Berto. That fight isn't in the running, for me, as FOTY. Marquez-Concepcion, Gonzalez-Vargas, and Rios-Acosta are right there. Rios-Antillon slips in right alongside those fights.

    And again, I'll say it. Ortiz-Berto wasn't even fight of the night. John-Yordan was a better fight.

    I personally think it was better than Berto-Ortiz...But i still have trouble putting it ahead of Marquez-Concepcion, Salido-Lopez, Rios-Acosta, and Arce-Vazquez!


    Mexicans/Chicanos STILL putting up the most exciting fights and keeping the sport alive! :deal
