I don't think it was FOTY, I don't even think it was the best Rios fight. Still an awesome little scrap, if only it could've lasted a bit longer for some more action.

Yeah. Cooler heads prevail, and after some time to reflect this was more of a back-end of the top ten type of fight due its brevity. My ultimate vote in the poll was "No".

    You're right, it's nowhere near Rios-Acosta. :thumbsup

Rounds 1 and 2 are AMAZING, though.

Best 3 rounder of the year? :deal It will be hard to top (although I could see Guerrero-Maidana exploding with a blistering pace from the onset, and ending in as few as three rounds..)

Rios-Acosta was especially great since it as one of those fights where (imo) one guy was clearly winning to start and the other just wore him down and took it away. I can't wait for Maidana-Guerrero, it's not FOTY in an objective sense but Guerrero-Katsidis might be my favorite fight so far this year because of its action and I'm a huge Ghost fan. I see a similar outcome for that one too, a lot of action but Guerrero just carves the Argentine up.

Holy **** 2011 is so awesome

2011 has been awesome. Like many others have said, berto vs Ortiz was good, but not great. Rios literally ripped victory away from Acosta that night. Special to see every time that occurs.

Francisco Arce-Hugo Ruiz needs to be in that list.

I still have Marquez-Concepcion at #1. The first three rounds of that were just as crazy as Rios-Antillon, only it went on for another 7 rounds and had some pretty heated exchanges later in the fight as well.

Heck, I'm not even sure it was the best Bam Bam Rios fight this year.

I'd throw Sturm-Macklin in there as well.

Awesome fight for sure! Brandon did his thing and got the better of Antillon throughout but Rios ate some good shots as well. Very action packed and exciting. I said yea...but could be pre mature.

Rios/Antillon was great but just a bit to short. Ortiz/Berto might get ROTY for the sixth but not FOTY.

    Rios-Acosta > Berto-Ortiz > Rios-Antillon

Had Rios-Antillon lasted just twice as long (and stayed as hectic as the first six minutes) it would outdo Berto-Ortiz.

After rewatching it, all things considered (expectations, outcome, significants, ect) and obviously the fight itself, no way is rios vs antillon above ortiz berto.
