yeah it was a robbery but what did you expect! The whole purpose of that event was to build up a rios v marquez match then the winner fights pac!! they knew rios was overweight so they included a lst minute 50 000 bonus for the winner to make up for his fine!! he's becoming a big name so the corrupt powers that be will make sure he remains undefeated...

that richard dude had no chance whatsoever unless he won by devastation knockout (and that was never gonna happen)...

only person who will get a decision against rios on a top rank promotion is Pac (cash cow) + possibly Marquez!!

Blantant robbery, almost as bad as Casamayor getting an early Christmas gift against Santa Cruz.

It was a very bad and blatant robbery. Abril was right there in front of Rios blocking shots and making Rios miss. Abril out landed Rios round by round.

Rios looked confused and lost. No jabs, no head movement, no waist movement, no mobility, no feints, Abril schooled Rios plain and simple.

You got it brother. If I was Abril I would hire a lawyer and demand an investigation! Justice must be done here, those crooked judges must go! :?

I think it was as bad man... What I haven't hear from Rios is an answer for a rematch, Abril say he will fight him a 135, 140 or whatever weight he chose.

Abril won the fight so clearly it was almost a shut out. Rios maybe won 2 rounds and that's being generous. When Pac fought Marquez he had already planned a fight ahead, same with Rios and fighting Marquez, Mr Arum already has the stadium booked. I hate the word corruption, but how can you explain such scores. I find it strange how one judge can see what the world sees, and yet two judges have almost identical scores but so far out from the 3rd judge. Personally i think Abril had no chance of winning that fight, and he had already lost before entering the ring. Arum claimed Abril held alnight and should have lost a point, fine he would have still won with a point loss. Abril put a masterclass on Rios and couldn't influence the judges but someone else clearly did.

The worst thing is, it's not like Abril benefited in anyway from that impressive performance. In fact, it's the complete opposite. Most high-profiled fighters won't go anywhere near him now. Such a shame. Dude puts in a near perfect display against a guy holding all of the advantages, and gets an undeserved slap in the face for it.

Anyone who watched the fight knows that there's no way in Heaven, Hell, or Purgatory that Rios won.

Rios is going to pretend Abril doesn't exist. Top Rank will be doing a more dilligent job of handpicking his opponents from now on.

Good point. Maybe he can face Titere Vasquez who's got a style that gives most fighter fits like Abril. :good
