hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, i still dont see how anyone was "contractually bound" to stay in one spot against Duran
You obviously are just a nut-hugger of those old timey fighters who couldn't even cut it in the amateurs today.
Rios would of been tailor made for a prime Duran. Duran fought more aggressively than Rios, also had an iron jaw, great stamina, and Duran when he wanted he could punch. This was a lightweight that carried knockout power up to middleweight. Rios would get beat to the punch and either stopped or brutally ko'd. Going toe to toe is what Duran loved.
Some idiots in this forum have no sense of humor. Sometimes we need to have a windup thread in a boxing forum. Theres no need to be damn too serious about it
Rios destroys him... I'm talking some hardcore prison **** here people. Wow... who the hell voted for Duran?... guess you guys were joking or something...
Duran fought until he was 50 ! All but one of the losse were above the lightweight limit. One cannot put a facfirst fighter who won a paper title against arguably the greatest lightweight who ever lived ! Duran lost a ten round decision to De Jesus ,then knocked him out twice in rematches. Stylistically Acosta would give Duran more teouble than a tailor made Rios. anyone who came at Duran at lightweight got knocked out ! Runners like Adolpho and Edwin Viruet gave Duran some trouble at lightweight, but got beat up in the process. Duran was a monster at lightweight. Also in the first Leonard fight in Montreal. Listen to some of the Leonard interviews. rios would'nt see round ten ! Be lucky to see round four. Duran was not only great offesiveliy but defensively as well Also a highly underrated counterpuncher. Duran was a master at fienting as well. A whole different level than Brandon Rios !
those with Asperger's have a hard time discerning irony in speech. Not sure about writing. Clearly Rios, with his EXCELLENT conditioning, would never be forced to jump weight classes like the exuberant eater Duran. I expect Rios to make upwards of 30 defenses at this weight without any problem. Discipline, movement, class in and out of the ring. He even reads magazines on planes to foment effective game plans for his friend's opponents. He has never called a fight wrong. Simply put a boxing mastermind. So Duran got lucky in a hundred fights or so - big deal. Manos de pedo won't leave a stench on the slickness of Rios.
