I think Gamboa keeps his speed and power but he wont hurt rios anyway even with the power. He will pepper rios with combinations and step off. When rios wants to retaliate gamboa wont be in that spot anymore. Rios is biggest advantage and the main reason he would win this fight is because of his power but i believe in gamboa and believe he and steward are smart enough to not let rios be able to use that power all night.

I expect to see some stunning counters from gamboa that will just make him look awesome. Gamboa could cut rios and work the spot with his fast hands to get a stoppage that is very possible. It's like pac vs margarito as long as pac kept moving and margarito wasn't allowed to trap him off and go to work then pac would be completely fine. I think Gamboa needs to work hard on his fitness, stamina and physical condition for this fight because thats were i see this fight lost for him but won by his skills and ability. Gamoba has faced better competition and is more seasoned.

We watch this fight before, it will go like Gamboa vs. Ponce, PPl think that Rios will KO Gamboa in the latter rounds and I say his best chances are in the first 3 or 4 rounds, after that he will b chasing a ghost and get hit plenty of time in the process, UD or late KO for Gamboa.

Except Rios is bigger, stronger, hits harder and is just flat out better than PDL, who managed to make Gamboa look bad at times...This will be Rios-Acosta all over again, but will end sooner.

    Rios TKO8.

Rios is a little overrated in my eyes. Despite the size difference, I'd expect Gamboa to handle him reasonably easily with his superior skills and speed.

Ponce never managed to do anything against Gamboa, the Cuban did what he wanted to do in that fight, and once he stepped up his work rate Ponce looked like a c fighter, which he is not...

This is the best fight made so far this year.

All the points have been made.

Gamboa has the edge but comes down to him keeping his cool and not letting ego come into it.

This will be a great fight against two contrasting styles. Rios has a good enough chin and enough punching power to demand Gamboa's best.
Gamboa has the speed and explosive punching power to catch any fighter off guard.

This fight will come down to 2 very interesting factors; Gamboa's chin and Rios' stamina. We all know Rios has a great chin and the will to go with it. He also has very underated boxing skills. But how will his stamina be for this fight with his recent weight issues? Gamboa as we all know is moving up in weight and usually looks as fresh in the 12th round as he does in the 1st round of a fight. He has proven to be able to both circle and move while attacking against similar styled fighters like Rios. However, Rios will be bigger and stronger than any previous and will eventually test his chin.
Will Gamboa have a better chin @135? Many fighters have proven so when moving up in weight. Will Rios have the stamina to consistently cut off the ring and stop Gamboa in his tracks? It will be interesting.

My early prediction: Gamboa by decision

If Rios struggles with weight, Gamboa will win. Rios no struggle with weight this time though and he should win KO.

Great observation. Gamboa needs to keep his cool and not let his emotions control him. As long as he keeps calmed and focused he is beating Rios by UD or a possible late TKO. :good

Rios' power will be too much for Gamboa. I got Rios by late KO.

I missed the part when PDl made him look bad, just because he didn't ko him doesn't mean he looked bad.

I am thinking there is some sort of dispute that forced this fight to happen. This is not your typical Bob Arum match making.
