I wish I could say I knew that. Brandon would be the first to admit that he is his own worst enemy.

I was referring to brain health. They have both been in some REALLY tough fights. However, assuming there are no health issues, I would definitely like to see this fight made. Possible Gatti-Ward action with a Barrera-Morales subplot.

In some late interviews of Rios on Youtube, he sounds very punch drunk. If this fight were to happen I don't see Rios quitting at any cost. He's too much of a warrior. Might be dangerous for his long-term health.

Brandon for the most part only speaks like that on camera. As I said in another thread, I spent most of the day with Brandon and his parents at the regional Golden Gloves in July 2016 and not one time did he stutter or slur his speech until the cameras were in his face and he was asked a question. I have worked extensively with people with learning disabilities and both Victor and Brandon have them. Add that to the nervousness on being on camera and you get slurred speech.

That's good to hear. I don't know him personally but I like guys like Rios who are just straight up with you, no BS.

Brandon has already said that the fight may start at the press conference.

Interesting stuff. How come Ortiz doesn't look like more of a drunk? When is their fight?

I don't know or think Victor drinks all the time. Or that he is an alcoholic. It is just happening more that he is drinking and getting into trouble. Fight is planned for February 2017

Ortiz is by far the more talented fighter and should win. Up until the Mayweather fight and thereafter, Ortiz was handily winning during all his early losses until unexpectedly quiting. The only question now is his inability to take a punch. He alway has had top notch skills and was easily outboxing Berto until the uppercut. Rios doesn't have the same pop as Berto so Rios will have to land many more punches to hurt Ortiz. We'll see...

All these and other reasons makes this bout a potentially FOTY candidate.

I am almost as excited for the press conference and weigh in as I am for the fight.

Good interview. I can't wait for this fight. Is it going to be PPV?
