Nah I'm not joking, I don't think Maidana is faster than Rios, in any way. That's not to say either are extremely fast, but I believe Rios is faster. Disclaimer: Rios looked like **** in his last fight (undercard of Tony vs Manny) and looked slow and out of shape (because he was). Prior to that I think he's faster than Maidana, and a better combination puncher.

Rios IS faster than maidana and he cuts off the ring better AND his puches are more compact and technically fluid.

I guess agree to disagree. People tend to sleep on Maidanas speed. His punches are pretty fast. I dont think Rios punches are faster and yes i know he took his last fight on short notice and he was weight drained.Even in the Peterson fight he did not look faster than Maidana to me.

I would love to see Rios-Maidana though...

:good Yes, it would be a good match up for the reasons you state. I also believe Rios is a bit taller then maidana.

i think a khan vs rios match up would be very very exciting but i'd like to see rios take a few more not so easy and not too difficult fight against speedsters, maybe guys like malignaggi andthe older peterson.

I know what your saying but he won't need the tune ups he is ready now. Rios can rest on the inside where Khan doesn't do much. I'm not saying he will beat Khan, I just think he is already set in his style and it won't change much with any tune ups. He is who he is.

Maidana's speed is pretty deceptive, yes. But he and Rios are pretty similar in speed, not that it'll matter any way, because you don't need to be fast to catch Khan. In fact, it seems like you don't need much at all to catch him. Rios has got all the tools needed to give Khan another Maidana night:

    - Ability to cut off the ring and trap Khan.
    - Chin to walk through shots (despite Khan having decent power).
    - Power of his own to hurt him.
    - Heart and stamina.
    - Size and weight.
