Katsidis threw a clean left hook. Rios doesn't know what clean punches are and e gets hit too much. JMM would have a field day on him assuming age hasn't affected him too much. 9-11 t/ko win for JMM imo.

 

No small Acosta had him stunned many times until
5-6 round Marquez is like 100x the fighter Acosta is, Marquez points or late tko.

it would be a fight where Marquez leaves it all in the ring survives a scare but comes out on top.

 

I disagree. I think Danny Garcia will give Marquez a better fight than Rios. I think Garcia would beat Rios as well.

I agree if Marquez was tied up, if Marquez can use his footwork he wins every round. I doubt JMM would agree to fight tied up so bad news for Rios JMM schools him if they ever fight.

I love Rios and he's exciting and all that but JMM picks him apart.. Unless JMM gets old over night..

 

I'd agree that he poses Marquez some problems in an inside fight.

Trouble is: Marquez is smart. He won't let Rios have an inside fight. He'll sit there doing that front-foot pivot and cut him to ribbons on the way in. Plus, even on the few occasions when Rios gets inside, he's going to be getting upper-cut countered in a way he's never dealt with before.

Can't see it going well for Bam-Bam, unless he lands something improbable.

 

Some perspective needed I think. Lets remember that this guy lost 8,9, maybe 10 rounds to Abril. I know, styles make fights, but this kid, as good an inside fighter as he is, isn't anywhere close to JMM's level. JMM's ring IQ gets him through this one with ease. Stays outside using his footwork, repeatedly catches Rios coming in, loads up with combinations later in the fight to do real damage. Good chin or not, Rios is being picked apart. If Rios is given a shot at Pacquiao I'll puke.

 

He is NOT a good inside fighter. He's a crude slugger. Jeez...

Rios is nowhere near that sort of quality.

Even Marquez nullified Katsidis' power and offence by standing close and punching with him. Marquez would be ripping Rios up to head and body. The little Mexican is a banger, even now.
