well him record in the ams speaks for itself i doubt he does want to go to 168 with those big power punchers around. hopefully he gets the chance to unify at 160, then see what happens from there
I am starting to read and hear to much crap about GGG. I even saw a post debating who would win between him and the great legend Marvelous Marvin Hagler. He had a very good win against a contender that he should beat let's leave it there. Ward has dominated Super Middleweight beaten all comers and ruined the guy who was the reigning Light heavyweight champion of the world. If you want to ruin GGG put him in with Ward who will take him to school. I have noticed something which a lot of people don't seem to have picked up on that after fighting guys I never quite the same. Evidence Kessler, Abraham, Froch, Bika and Dawson to name a few. I am not saying some of these guys have not won fights after facing Ward I am saying they are not quite as good afterwards so comprehensively does he do a number on them. For me Ward is pound for pound number 2 right now between Mayweather and Rigondeaux.
Why would Ward avoid GGG. Ward has never avoided anyone. He told Bute to fight his victims because he was on a different level and fought Dawson. Bute fought Ward victim Froch and got destroyed point proven
Ward is an ace man, but no way in hell is he gonna take a cakewalk in any shape or form against GGG. Golovkin knows how to handle any style including Wards this isn't a one dimensional puncher here like a Miranda. GGG has a jab like a sledgehammer and those bodyshots worry me vs Sergio or Ward. Macklin is no bum he shoulda been champ vs Sturm and GGG squashed 168lb elites like Dirrell and Bute in the ams. I think GGG vs Ward is a 50/50 fight.
Actually Golovkin is a better technical fighter than Ward. All of Ward's fans wish he fought like Golovkin.
Watch Ward again.. He makes opponents game disappear everyone he has gotten in the ring with Slows down, looks confused, and ultimately gets beat.. remember.. Ward doesn't lose rounds.. The GGG Jab you are talking about will be reduced.. Ward takes away fighters strenths and makes them use plan B & C if they can execute them while he has his way with them.. look at the Tapes son..
Good post Olu,the only bone of contention I would have with it is Froch has probably got better since fighting Ward. Ward would still beat him in a return though. To me Ward is an exceptional fighter and for some on here to say GGG beats him just because he beat Macklin is plain crazy.
Right after the fight GGG, on HBO, after everybody was getting excited about GGG, the hype was on and then Ward calls a MW: he calls... well Chavez Jr who was basically shot out by a 37 years old Martinez. Ward never goes for the undefeated champ. He never fought one and will never do that. Ward always goes for the guy who already have been beaten. He said after Bute got beated in England, where Ward doesn't want to go, that he was just trying to hype a fight against Bute... Yeah right. Ward will never fight GGG unless GGG loses at some point.
Let's say GGG a natural middleweight lost to Ward a natural light-heavyweight, how would GGG be exposed if he lost to one of the best boxers today? How does that work out?
