He passed away from cardiac arrest as a result of lung cancer. Aged 75 years. Great iconic boxing scribe, historian and commentator. I met him at delahoya v castillejo in vegas...he told me "bet on the over" which i did and won a few bucks. A great loss to boxing. Prayers with family and friends.
RIP Bert Sugar. Got many of his ESPN produced DVD's...while you may not agree with everything he said the bloke had some amazing historical stories.

i didnt agree with alot of his opinions but totally respected his love and knowledge of the sport. Sad passing. Goodbye Mr Bert Sugar
Bert was a drinker and smoker. Asked about retirement he said: " i get paid to drink, smoke and talk bull****. If i retired...id drink, smoke and talk bull**** but wouldnt be paid for it. So why would i retire??
Sugar was bought to Australia as a star witness for the Tszyu/Skychannel v Bill Mordey court case. He alway wore a crazy hat . He looked like an old time "Urger"at the races.
