Thanks a lot for posting these interviews mate. I’m going to listen to them later. I know that he took Glyn Rhodes in who never reached his full potential, but Glyn now also trains fighters and takes kids off the streets like Brendan did. And one of Glyn’s old fighters has also just opened a gym to do the same thing, as well as Ryan Rhodes. So Brendan’s work is still being done. And even the kids who aren’t going to become professional fighters have now got a focus in life, and they’re keeping out of trouble. So it’s great to see these guys who were brought up with Brendan, influencing many other kids by using the same methods and showing the same level of respect and support. Long may it continue. There’s a lot of people in Sheffield now calling for a statue to be built in Brendan’s memory. Hopefully, it will be sanctioned and built by the end of the year. He was a great man who’ll be sadly missed. Do you know if Naz has commented on Brendan’s passing? I was hoping he’d be at the funeral.
The star also had this from Naz https://www.thestar.co.uk/news/emot...after-death-of-mentor-brendan-ingle-1-9188496
Thank you so much for posting this mate. This is what I’ve been hoping for. I’m away from Sheffield at the moment.
You're most welcome. I used to live in Sheffield and have immense respect for what Brendan Ingle did for the city and the sport.
You're welcome. Very well said and I couldn't agree more. That is the best thing about his legacy - his altruism and kindness lives on through those whose lives he touched or helped change their lives or steer them in the right direction and it will do so for many, many years to come That's the beauty of it when you do these kind of things for others It's This content is protected Yes a statue would be a fitting tribute. He fully deserves one Funny you should mention that as I did a search for something about it just yesterday http://www.irish-boxing.com/prince-naseem-hamed-pays-tribute-to-late-brendan-ingle/
Thanks a lot for that. I’m glad Naz released a statement. But after giving it some thought, maybe it’s for the best that he didn’t attend the funeral. There may have been some unsavoury scenes with emotions running high. It’s sad though, seeing as though Brendan had such an impact on his life. Hopefully the statue will definitely happen at some point. On another note, I hope Herol Graham’s doing better. Regarding the video, I had a mate who loved those guys in the 90’s. I couldn’t get into them though. I was listening to Counting Crows all the time back then.
