Sad news from Thailand of the passing of Chartchai Chionoi. Chartchai was 75. He'll be remembered as a true warrior involved in so many tough fights. RIP Champ.

What a great little flyweight. That first fight with Efren Torres was a classic. RIP, champ.

He was a testament to how size, power, strength, conditioning and sheer awkwardness can overcome not being the most skilled. Cracking little fighter. He unfairly stuck in my craw for awhile because of how he beat McGowan twice on cuts after being roundly outboxed both times. Great fights with Torres, Ohba etc. RIP.

I'll always personally remember him as the man that nearly took out Masao Ohba in a round in what is one of my favorite lower weight fights of all time.

Great, great little fighter who was in my opinion a part of one of the last of the truly great generations of boxing. 61-18... You don't see records like that anymore. A real warrior! RIP sir.

Those three bouts with Torres were bouts that I read about in those Ring magazines my dad would buy me in the 60's.
