    His books a great read. "Finnegan - Self Portrait of a fighting man". Great stories great fighter.

    Britains greatest olympian for me apart from Dick McTaggert. Great pro as well in a great division in a great era. Sadly missed.

    A sad day indeed I followed chris & brother kevin during their careers around the smallhalls & then on to the big arenas like The albert hall, wembley,& nottingham chris never gave less than his best & gave a very worth world champ Bob Foster one of his toughest fights, his fights with John conteh were classics. He was without doubt one of the toughest british boxer of the last 50 years. Rest in peace Champ

    One of my first sporting memories is being allowed to stay up late to listen to the Foster fight on the radio with my dad. We were banished to the kitchen because my mum dfidn't want her TV viewing spoilt.
