"The family are devastated to have to announce the death of our beloved Enzo," the Calzaghes said. "Joe and all of the Calzaghe family would like to thank the public for their well wishes and kind thoughts, especially the outpouring of support from within the boxing community." https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/45533903
Hopefully, Joe starts training fighters. Enzo brought some unique training to boxing and it was effective.
So this report came directly from the family? I've been warily keeping an eye on the updates as there was a false/premature reporting of his passing last week that was brought to my attention. (reminiscent of what happened with Tom Petty last year) Enzo Maccarinelli - whom I believe used to be trained by his namesake and fellow Welshman - has been active on Twitter all day, up to an hour ago, with no mention of Calzaghe's passing. You'd think he would have some words on it (assuming he was made aware) so my first instinct was that we had another hoax or jumping the gun here... but if the statement was indeed from his family then I guess that is that. Last I knew they'd said he was in poor health but they were hopeful for a turnaround.
Don't know what to believe, people said he passed away 2-3 days ago multiple times by various news outlets. I'll wait until Joe says something.
