    He was slightly before my time but I've heard his name mentioned often and I remember reading features on him back when I was an avid reader of boxing magazines. RIP.

    In 2005, [url]The Guardian[/url] and other newspapers reported an incident where one of Errol's white collar boxing students, film distributor Simon Franks, hit Hollywood actor [url]George Clooney[/url] at the premiere of his film [url]Good Night, and Good Luck[/url].[url][6][/url][url][7][/url] An argument between the two men was alleged to have got out of control. Christie was quoted in The Guardian asking whether his student, Franks, had used his left hook

    Christie and his pupil deserve a medal for putting that smug piece of **** in his place! Had a good chuckle reading that.

    I was lucky enough to meet Errol in the 1980s. A nice genuine man, who was an extremely talented amateur boxer.

    Just heard sad news from the midlands Errol Christie has passed away.An incredible talent with excellent skill and speed. He was suffering from lung cancer .He was fifty three.RIP champ.

    That s crap to hear. Only a young guy really to be struck down. Hate to lose good honest fighters like Errol.
