I've mentioned him a few times in past as one of great trainers around who seem out of site. He split from Duva in 1990s and stayed in Philly. He orchestrated Spinks fight plan for first Ali bout, and walked out of corner during rematch due to so many of Spinks 'Friends" being in corner and spouting nonsense while he was trying to work corner.
I wish he had gotten shot with one last fighter. By they way, he was very good middleweight top 10 fighter in his day.

One of my favorite Georgie Benton moments came in the Holyfield-Bert Cooper fight......

.......Holyfield had been caught and dropped by a Cooper big shot, and after the round was over, Holyfield on his stool, Benton asks Holyfield, "you know what you just did there?" Holyfield breathing hard and somewhat confused responds "yes.".....to which Benton with conviction responds, "well, dont do it again."

You could sense Georgie Benton cared about his fighters.
    RIP Georgie!
