I have the fight with Tillis out in Texas from '82...... Tillis was ONCE a promising contender.... But after he lost to Weaver and later to Greg Page, Jim Tillis became an opponent / steppingstone...... I too, wish I had Page vs. Coetzee and Snipes.......... ESPN never shows that stuff......... Well, in truth, Greg Page never really got the attention from the networks in a huge fight.......... So I am not shocked that ESPN doesn't air his stuff......... Dudes like "Dokes & Spoon" got better deals / fights from the networks... Page had his chances though..... But early losses to "Berbick & Spoon" stalled his progress...... The loss to Tubbs really hurt Page's career... MR.BILL:deal
For some reason or another, I have no fear for Riddick Bowe and his bull**** comeback.... Why? Because Bowe is a slob at age 41 and is only interested in fighting ONE BUM per year...... Bowe's comeback opposition has been that of the C- level..... It really is bad........ Peace.... MR.BILL
F.F.Sakes, Page was working with Ollie McCall in 1994 & 1995...... It may seem like a few yrs back, but we're talking 14 to 15 years ago...... :admin It was 10 yrs ago that Page got revenge over Tim Witherspoon on PPV in 1999.... Both were flabby and outta shape, but Spoon was pathetic..... "Page-Crowe" was 2001...... Time does fly..... Still, it was 7 years ago.....atsch In sports, them are some long-ass yrs for an athlete.......:deal MR.BILL:rasta
He was also there for the rematch with Lewis in 1997. I remember him yelling "Do this for your children!" in a desperate attempt to get Oliver back on the rails.
McCall's breakdown against Lewis in 1997 was ONE reason why Page decided to comeback and fight again.... Indirectly speaking, my man Ollie McCall is somewhat guilty....:blood:shock: MR.BILL
Page was assisting Ollie McCall in the gym with training / sparring...... Page and his ego always thought he was better than McCall...... He saw that McCall was making money even when McCall was screwing up...... It was shortly after that 1997 fiasco that Page dusted off his old gear and announced an ill-advised comeback...... Had McCall remained a mentally stable fighter who could go on winning and earning big money like he did as WBC champ, it's possible Greg Page would've remained on McCall's team as a co-trainer....... In fact, McCall didn't really need George Benton..... Greg Page seemed to be doing a fine job while working for McCall...... I think Page could've handled the lead role as trainer by 1996 / '97......:hey MR.BILL
Don King's entire stable of fighters from the last 25 yrs have all complained about King jackin' them around on purse money and added bonus cabbage, etc... Signing "Blank" contracts and then having D.K. and associates filling in the blanks later on...... Yeah, some serious bullcrap has gone on at D.K. Enterprises...... :deal MR.BILL
