After 45 years, most of which were excellent HBO boxing is poised to take its own 10 count.

Meanwhile boxing is thriving elsewhere. A pity. Thanks for the memories.

When AT&T was allowed to merge with Time Warner, the AT&T Head Honcho said all "Profit Centers" would be evaluated whether or not to continue them into the future. It's all about $$$$ to the shareholders in the company.

Maybe it will be good for boxing. Get more good fights on cable!

It won't. HBO's production value and team, even with Merchant out are still good.

At least we won't have to listen to Max Kellerman blather anymore...............oh wait, he is on ESPN talking gibberish on a daily basis.

It was the only good thing on HBO besides the movies. They are the SJW Network.

Its funny I cut the chord since moving to my new place 2 or 3 months back and was still figuring out what streaming services to get and the HBO app was one I was on the fence on given it is more expensive than most other apps and services but now this did the work for me

I grew up as an HBO Boxing kid and it is sad to see it go but its the way business goes. I read a good article that outlined these causes:

did not carry the biggest American stars
did not show fights from Golden Boy or Haymon, started to bring Golden Boy Back eventually
Arum took his biggest stars to ESPN from HBO
Too many PPV events for non PPV fights
    did not adequately replace Merchant

I like the idea that boxing will move toward cable TV but fear with the rise in streaming services that boxing will be more niche and less accessible to the overall public. ESPN+ is allowing a lot of good fights to not be shown on TV's at sports bars where a lot of new fans could see a fight by accident just by grabbing a beer and being turned into a fan

PBC is doing the right thing getting on FOX thats big time.

I'm guessing Kellerman will be calling fights on ESPN.
