    Sad news about the passing of one of the Great Indigenous Fighters Hector Thompson....in my opinion second only to Lionel Rose as The greatest Australian Indigenous Fighter ever....RIP my good friend.!!!

    Yep, great fighter, I have watched a few of his fights on video, very impressive, he fought great against Duran until he got caught. His battles with Manny Santos were awesome too.

    Yes, enjoyed watching him back in the 70s, he was a complete fighter/boxer looked smooth and accomplished, shame for him that he fought in a very competitive era, at another time could have been a champion for a long rein.
    Not sure about , having Rose above the Maitland Terror, Les Darcy, but each to his own.

    Hectors Punch was Brutal...so much so 2 Fighters died in the ring Fighting Him....It affected Hector because He was never really the same after those incidents.!!!

    I remember Duran saying he was a very strong and tough opponent . That's a major compliment.

    Would have almost certainly been a world champ in most other eras especially with the amount of different organisations that are recognized these days
