JC, as you were at the Frazer fight, I'm hoping you can elaborate for me. I recall reading back in the great magazine era that Hector stopped Alfonso in 7 but really injured him or something to that effect. I've never seen anything else on this fight so first-hand account goes to you. Do you recall how the fight went down?

Hi mate, its a LONG time ago and I was only 8 years old at the time but I do remember it was a pretty easy fight for Hector ( I remember my Dad saying that Frazer was gone after a few rounds or so ), that Frazer " quit " in his corner ( quit is a word I dislike using when a fighter is stopped between rounds and its possible Peppermints corner stopped the fight, I am not sure about what actually happened ) and that I also remember that Frazer had the flashiest trunks and robe I had seen a fighter wear :D Aussie fighters werent into " bling " in those days so Frazer's gear really stood out.

Hec used to wear fighters out with his consistent body attack and his strength, he wasn't a big puncher ( I would describe him as an accurate and heavy fisted type but not a concussive puncher as he threw short, well produced punches not haymakers and he also had a very good jab ) so I reckon he must have given Frazer a beating in the previous rounds.

    A pleasure mate.

You're most welcome mate, and that's a splendid post. Lovely to see such levels of personal knowledge in relation to a fine fighter; the obit threads on here never get much traction usually even for better known fighters.

I hope your health picks up and maintains, you're a much valued bloke on here and a gent.
