That’s sad. I go to NYC every year and every time make sure to go into Jimmys a couple of times. Met him many times over the years and always found him to be a great guy. RIP Jimmy.
Would stop in Jimmys often but only like twice in last 10 years. Great guy and great bar. Will be missed.
Very sad to hear this I spent 5 great nights in his company , he was a real gentleman, terrific bar, reasonable prices ,with a great juke box and boxing memorabilia.RIP Jimmy.
For midtown Manhattan, in fact anywhere in NYC for that matter, the prices are incredible. Spoke volumes of him that he would not gouge his clientele even though he’d have every right to add a $ to the prices every so often.
Pretty sure the vodka tonics were that price when I first started going there, almost 20 years ago. Crazy prices, excellent jukebox, cool scene (especially the weekends of fights at the Garden). He’ll be missed.
Same thing for me, although my annual spring trip this year got put off for obvious reasons. And always stop at Jimmy’s Corner and usually take a friend to kind of show off the coolness of the place. Never met Jimmy himself, but RIP.
