A man charged with stabbing another man to death at a Sydney public housing block is suffering injuries himself and was unable to appear in court.
Craig Charles Pitts, 28, suffered a large wound to his hand and did not appear when his matter came before Central Local Court on Wednesday.
Police charged him with the stabbing murder of John Marceta, 38, who was found dead about 12.30pm (AEST) on Tuesday in the hallway of a public housing block in the inner suburb of Redfern.
Court papers show Pitts was a resident of the Morehead St block, where police found two knives.
He did not apply for bail and it was formally refused.
Pitts will next appear in Central Local Court on August 12.
A second man charged with affray over the incident was due to appear in the same court on Wednesday.

    Thats a shame.

His fight with Cussion (the 2nd I believe) was a well good stoush.

It certainly was. I was ringside (Knockdown timekeeper) Judges Bill Neil & Murray Brampton were way off course. However, Garth did win by 2/3 points at most

I'll never forgot those 3 or 4 uppercuts Garth landed in a row late in the fight...that seemed to repel the comeback John was having.

Both left it all in the ring that night.

They certainly did, However, George Reno had a bit of trouble extracting Marceta's purse out of the promoter, which caused a bit of fracas

John Marceta always came in top shape to fight. His fights with Garth Cussion were beauties. A tragic way for him to go. RIP John.
